BJP candidate injured in stone pelting in north Kashmir’s Bandipora

Bandipora: A Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate was injured when angry protesters attacked him with stones in this north Kashmir district.

Adil Ahmad Buhru, who is contesting from Ward-15 here, sustained minor injuries when some youth pelted stones at him near Dachigam polling booth this afternoon, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. Buhru was on his way to the booth to cast his vote.

Doctors at the district hospital Bandipora confirmed that Buhru was brought to hospital for treatment.

“The man has suffered injuries in his head. His condition is stable,” they said.

Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir Police refuted the news that a BJP candidate was injured in a stone pelting incident.

A senior police official of the district told Kashmir Reader that the news about injury to a BJP candidate is baseless & concocted. “No such incident happened here,” he said.

The police official however said that BJP worker was hit by a stone in Plan area of the District.
