In 2 days, over 20 youth arrested in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

Pulwama: Police have arrested over twenty youth from different areas of this south Kashmir ahead of the municipal and local body polls scheduled to begin from October 8.

The youth have been picked up by police in nocturnal raids from Karimabad, Murran, Main Town Pulwama and other areas, locals told Kashmir Reader today. The arrests have been made in last two days in the build up to upcoming local body elections.

A senior police officer confirmed the arrests made in the district.


“Some of them are over ground workers and some have been arrested in wake of the elections,” he said.
