Missing woman’s body found in Kangan stream

Kangan: SRINAGAR: Body of a 25-year-old woman, who was missing from her home for a week, was recovered from a power canal in Kangan area of Ganderbal district Tuesday, six months after the body of her brother was recovered from the same canal.
Officials said the body of Wahida Akhtar, daughter of Mohammad Alam Awan of Satrina Kangan was recovered about three miles from her home from a power canal of Upper Sindh Project Kangan Tuesday afternoon in Panzin area.
Police have registered a case and handed over the body to her relatives after legal formalities.
In May this year Wahida’s brother, Shakeel Ahmed Awan, a postgraduate student was recovered from the same power canal after he went mysteriously missing from his home.
