SRINAGAR: Taking strong notice of the complaints of the students, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr G N Itoo on Monday directed administrators of private schools and registered coaching centres to complete the syllabus one week prior to the commencement of board exams.
According to a statement issued here, DSEK called a meeting of the representatives of private schools and registered coaching centres and issued the directions.
“DSEK directed the Administrators of private schools and coaching centres to arrange extra classes for the completion of syllabus, if needed and ensure that 100% syllabus is completed one week prior to the commencement of the board exams of 10th, 11th and 12th,” the statement said.
DSEK, it said, also asked the school administrators to give a time of at least one week to the students for the preparation of examination. “DSEK conveyed to the concerned that there will be no compromise for any lapse in completion of syllabus and stressed upon them to arrange the examination counselling sessions for the students on the pattern of government schools to guide the students, address their grievances and to reduce their mental stress,” the statement said.
DSEK also directed them to listen to the grievances of the students seriously and address to them accordingly.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director School Education Central Abid Hussain, OSD Academics Mir Sanaullah, and administrators of some private schools and registered coaching centres.
