Srinagar: The incarcerated chairman of Muslim League – Masarat Aalam Bhat was on Saturday brought from Kotbalwal Jail, Jammu to Srinagar for hearing, the party said.
“Aalam was produced in Forest Court on Saturday. After hearing the arguments, the judge fixed the next hearing on October 10,” the party said in a statement. “He was sent back to Kotbalwal Jail Jammu.”
The spokesman Sajad Ayobi said state’s policies and methods for his continued imprisonment is rights violation and is highly condemnable. “The government is deliberately doing it under a plan so that he is not released by the court,” he added.
He said the government instead of honouring the court orders is ignoring all norms and rules. “Alam is being subjected to political vendetta,” the spokesperson said and added: Masrat’s PSA has been quashed by the judiciary and even 36th PSA is about to complete.
The spokesman appealed the HR organisations to take note of human rights violations.
