Leh admin starts training polling staff for ULB elections

LEH: A daylong election training programme for the polling personnel, deployed for different wards for Municipal elections was held on Saturday.
“Deputy Commissioner, Leh, AvnyLavasa, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO) supervised the training,” the statement said.
Expressing pleasure over the ending of nomination filing process in an efficient manner, DC said that holding of polling is much greater responsibility ahead, therefore she cautioned each and every polling officials to take the training very seriously. She said that the training will make the employees well conversant with the election guidelines, efficiently handling of Electronic Voting Mission and other important polling procedures in order to ensure free, fair and transparent Municipal elections in Leh.
Highlighting each and every detail of polling guideline among the Presiding and Polling Officers, the Dy. District Election Officer, Dr Udham Dass urged upon them to follow the instructions of Election Commission cautiously and vigilantly at every level of election process, leaving no room for any lapses and complications. Important procedures like collection of polling materials, setting up of polling stations, seating arrangement of each polling officers, installation of voting compartment, identification of voters, use of EVMs, filling of forms and sealing procedures, holding of mock poll prior to election, role of Presiding officers and Polling officers etc. were other highlights of the training.
The district level master trainers Thinles Dawa and Mohammed Ayub gave a comprehensive training to polling personnel about the handling of Electronic Voting Machines.
The final training to the polling staff is scheduled on 6th October and the polling parties shall be dispatched for all the wards on 7th October, 2018.
