Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Friday held a protest in Srinagar against the civilian killing and arrest spree across Kashmir.
According to the statement, the leaders and activists of JKLF on the call from JRL, organised a peaceful protest here in wake of civilian killing, search operations, arresting pro-freedom leaders and campaign boycott of local body polls.
The statement further said that leaders visited various places of valley and urged people to stay away from upcoming election and said the process was detrimental for the sacred cause of martyrs.
The incarnated JKLF chairman Yasin Malik in a statement while condemning the killing, said that how can New Delhi claim democracy and non-violence when they are using extreme force against Kashmiris. Political prisoners are all ailing and despite this authorities have rushed to shift them to jails far away from their residences to inflict more harm to them and their families,” Malik said.
JKLF chairman further said: “Irony is that oppression is going on in the name of democracy and suppressing peoples voices in the name of empowering people through municipality and Panchayats is condemnable.”
