SRINAGAR: Islamia College of Science and Commerce enter semi-final of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Inter college Cricket Cup by beating Government Degree College Sopore by four wickets on Wednesday at ICSC ground.
After winning the toss the host college invited GDC Sopore to bat first and they managed to score 171 runs in alloted 30 overs. Latief Ahmad scored 61 runs off 47 balls and Azhar contributed 45 from 54 balls. For lslamia College Imtiyaz Bhat took three wickets while Bilal and Owais bagged two wickets each.
Chasing a total of 172 runs in 30 overs hosts achieved the target in 22.4 overs. For ICSC Kamran scored 68 runs in 54 balls and Irfan Bahadur 21 runs in 17 balls. For G D C Sopore Salim bagged three wickets and Owais also claimed two wickets .
Earlier Principal ICSC Prof Yaseen Ahmed Shah and convenor College Sports Committee ,Prof Shamim Ahmed Shamim were introduced to the members of both the teams.
Today GDC Ganderbal will lock horns with SSM College of Engineering Pattan in the second quater-final of the tournament.
The tournament is being organised by the Department of Physical Education, Islamia College Srinagar in memory of ex principal of the college Prof Mohammad Yousuf
