Srinagar: Intense clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday near a gunfight site.
Sources said that gunfight started at Panzan village of the district after forces cordoned a local masjid.
They said that militants hiding in the masjid opened fire on forces triggering gunfight.
In the meantime, scores of youth hit the streets and pelted rocks on forces to sabotage their operation.
Forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse them and clashes were underway when reports last came in.
Authorities have also snapped internet service in the central Kashmir district of Budgam.
