Srinagar: The J&K High Court on Tuesday directed Public Works Department to file a status report on position and improvement of various road connectivities under its supervision.
The division bench of Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Tashi Rabstan while hearing a PIL on road widening issues, sought status report from Public Works Department with observation that enough time has been lost and yet the court has not been apprised about the conditions of roads.
“We will not tolerate this lackadaisical approach,” the bench remarked and warned of action if the department failed to file the details.
On August 29, 2018 court had also directed the Vigilance Organization of Kashmir (VOK) to report about the status of FIR registered in embezzlement of funds sanctioned for the construction and widening of road from Sumbal to Bandipora.
The counsel appearing for the vigilance organization requested for some more time. The court after accepting the request of the counsel directed VOK to file report by next date of hearing.
