2-day international Urdu conference concludes at KU

SRINAGAR: A 2-day international conference on “Urdu Zabaan Aur Science: Ishtiraak-o-Iftiraaq” concluded here at Kashmir University on Tuesday. The conference was organized by Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), Kashmir University in collaboration with National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi.
Director DDE, Prof Mohiuddin Sangmi welcomed the guests while as former Director of DDE, Professor Shafiqa Parveen expressed her experiences with regard to the conference and distance system of education.
Organizing secretary of the conference, Dr Irfan Aalam threw light on the aims and objectives of the two-day conference.
Prof Mohammad Aslam Parvez in his address highlighted the importance of Urdu vis-à-vis Science. Upbringing of children and role of family members in Home affairs, with relation to Quran were the main topics of his speech.
The book entitled “Iqbal: Maaroozi Tajziye Aur Sciencee Mabaahis” by Dr irfan Aalam was also released on the occasion.
Prof Mohammad Zaman Azurdah, Prof Mushtaq Ahmed Dar, Prof Mohammad Aijaz Sheikh, Prof Arifa Bushra, Dr Aijaz Ashraf, Dr Tariq Chisti, scholars and students were also present on the occasion.
Four parallel technical sessions were conducted where scholars hailing from different local, national and international institutions presented their papers which were followed by discussion.
KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Talat Ahmed also attended one technical session and wished his greetings to the paper presenters and organizers.
Dr Nazir Mushtaq (Physician and Urdu Litterateur), Prof Mohammaz Zafer Uddin (MANUU), Nisar Ahmed Trali, Nasir Mirza, Dr Shaad Hussain, Dr Ashraf Aasari, Dr Seema Akber, Wilayet Hussain Rizvi, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Ganaie, Dr Kaleem Ullah Khan, Dr Pervaiz Aazmi and Dr Altaf Anjum were also present on the occasion.
