One dead another injured in Kangan road accident

Kangan: One person was killed and another suffered injuries in a road accident in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials told Kashmir Reader Tuesday.

The accident took place on Kangan-Naranag Road near the tourist resort of Naranag when a car bearing registration number PB02AL-5194 skidded of the road and fell down into a deep gorge around 9:00 pm Monday. One person died on the spot while another another sustained injuries.

Officials said the injured was rushed to the Sub district hospital Kangan from where  he was later shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment.

The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Alam Rasool Khan a resident of Wussan Bela Kangan, a fruit dealer by profession while injured has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Ahad Shah of Fraw Gund a local PDP leader.

A case has been registered in this connection and investigation have been taken up, officials said.
