Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway was reopened for traffic on Monday after remaining suspended for a day due to landslides triggered by heavy rains.
However, heavy vehicles were allowed to ply only from Jammu to Srinagar as a precautionary measure.
The road was closed early Sunday due to landslides and shooting stones at Kheeri, Magarkoot and Ramsoo on the highway.
After the landslides were cleared, few vehicles were allowed to move towards the Kashmir valley around midnight. Meanwhile, two-way light vehicular traffic was allowed on the highway since morning.
