Bandipora encounter; Kangan family claims one of the slain militants

Kangan:  A family from Hayan Kangan on Tuesday approached Ganderbal police, claiming that one among the five militants killed in Bandipora last week was their kin.

Ghulam Nabi Tedwa resident of Kralkhen Hayan Palpora in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district approached the Police, claiming that one among the slain militants was Parvaiz Ahmad Tedaw alias Abu Mayiwa whom they identified through pictures that have gone viral on social media.

Parvaiz Ahmad had gone missing since 2003 from his residence at Hayan Kangan.

Soon after the family found the picture, they approached concerned Police Station Kangan about the matter.

SSP Ganderbal Mohammad Khalil Poswal, said, “A family has approached us and they claim that one of the slain militant as their kin.”

I have told them to approach SSP Bandipora, he said.
