Srinagar: Public health engineering (PHE) daily wagers held a symbolic protest here on Monday demanding the release of long pending salaries.

Dozens of protesting PHE daily wagers under the banner of Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association assembled here at the Pratap Park and marched towards Press Enclave Srinagar, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. Carrying placards and banners, the protesters were shouting slogans seeking release of their long pending wages.

Protesting daily wagers blame the concerned PHE department of holding their salaries from more than 21 months.

Association Chairman, Sajad Ahmad Parray told Kashmir Reader that the department is fooling them by holding their salaries.

“We don’t even have money to pay fee of our wards. The studies of our children is suffering,” he said.
