Landslides force closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway

Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway on Sunday was closed for vehicular traffic after heavy rains triggered landslide at several places along the highway.

Traffic on the 300-km highway was suspended this afternoon after heavy rains triggered landslides at Ramsoo, Kheeri and Magarkoot, official sources told Kashmir Reader.

Traffic on both sides, official sources said has been stopped as Beacon officials have pushed men and machinery to clear the landslides and make the road motorable.
