Srinagar: The gunfight between government forces and militants in Aripal village of Tral in southern Kashmir on Sunday has ended with the killing of one militant.
A police official said that one Pakistani militant has been killed in the gunfight. The slain has been identified as Adnan Bhai.
Early morning, special operations group (SOG) of police and army laid a cordon around Aripal village of Tral and started a cordon and search operation (CASO), witnesses told Kashmir Reader.
As the CASO was underway, militants hiding in the village opened fire upon the government forces to break the cordon. The government forces, they said returned the fire triggering off a gun-battle.
