Man killed woman’s brother to avenge proposal rebuff: Police

Ganderbal: A minor boy found murdered in Ganderbal early this week was allegedly killed by a neighbour to avenge the rejection of marriage proposal by his family, police said Thursday.
SSP Ganderbal, Kahlil Ahmad Poswal told media persons Thursday that Abrar Majeed Reshi, 21, son of Abdul Majeed Reshi has been arrested for the murder of Faisal Hussain Misger, son of Mohammad Hussain Misger, a resident Busserbugh Alastang Ganderbal.
Abrar, who lived in the neighbourhood, was according to police stalking the elder sister of Faisal. He had also sent a marriage proposal to the family, which was rejected by the father.
The rejection infuriated Abrar, and few days after the marriage of the Abrar’s sister, he targeted the teenager and murdered him, police said.
SSP said that the accused has been arrested and taken on police remand and the statement of witnesses recorded before the court.
Exhibits related to the case have been sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory for examinations and investigation of the instant case is in progress, SSP said
Faisal’s body was recovered a little distance from his residence on September 18 under mysterious circumstances.
