Khelo India: Volleyball match, multilingual mushaira, organised at Ramban

RAMBAN: This mountainous district on Tuesday witnessed a multilingual mushaira at Government Higher Secondary School, Gool and a volleyball match at Government High School, Kanthi under Khelo India Sports for Peace and Development – an integrated youth engagement programme.
Headmaster GH Kanti, Mangal Singh, appreciated the participating teams for their performance while ZEPO, Ramban R.N Koul informed that competitions of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and volleyball are being organised in Khanthi under different age groups for both girls and boys.
At multilingual mushaira, Tehsildar Gool Mohammad Ashraf was the chief guest where as renowned writer and poet principal of Host School, Nana ji Tiku was the guest of honour.
Renowned poet Mohammad Shafi Jral hoped that such cultural-cum-educative programmes would go a long way in making the youth understand the culture and tradition of the state.
Around 42 poets including local poets, teachers and students from different parts of Ramban district recited their poetry in Urdu, Dogri, Hindi and Kashmiri which mesmerised the audience.
