GOC 14 Corps, DG BSF brief Governor on security situation

Srinagar: Lt Gen YK Joshi, GOC 14 Corps, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The Lt Gen briefed the Governor regarding the situation along the LoC and LAC, which fall within the Area of Responsibility of 14 Corps.
The Governor held detailed discussion with the Lt Gen regarding issues related to connectivity and expansion of road network, which is required to connect various parts of Ladakh internally and with the plains. The GOC also briefed the Governor regarding winter preparedness for sectors under his responsibility.
The Governor stressed the importance of maintaining sustained coordination between the Security Forces and the Civil Administration.
The Director General (DG) of Border Security Force (BSF), KK Sharma, also met the Governor at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The DG briefed the Governor about the functioning of the BSF in Jammu and Kashmir and about various issues connected with internal and external security, particularly in the backdrop of the recent spurt in attempts of infiltration from across the IB.
