Schools, colleges to remain shut in Srinagar tomorrow: District Admin

Srinagar: The Srinagar district administration on Tuesday ordered closure of all schools and colleges in the summer capital tomorrow on Wednesday in view of Muharram processions. 

An official of the district administration said the authorities have decided to close schools and colleges in the district as a “precautionary measure”.

Earlier in the day the authorities ordered imposition of restrictions in several police station areas of the city parts of the capital city to prevent Muharram processions including Shaheed Gunj, Batamaloo, Shergari, Kothibagh, Ram Munshi Bagh, Maisuma, and Kral Khud police stations.

The district authorities said the restrictions will be imposed as a preventive measure in view of eighth day of Muharram to maintain law and order.
