PAMPORE: Municipal Committee Pampore on Monday kick-started sanitation campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ in Saffron town Pampore on the occasion of fourth anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission.
Municipal Committee Pampore organised a cleanliness drive under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recently announced Swachhata Hi Sewa (cleanliness is service) campaign.
The drive was held on Jammu-Srinagar highway near Khadi and Village office, tehsil office and Eidgah in Pampore town, Executive Officer Muncipal Committee Pampore Manzoor Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
The ‘cleanliness is service’ campaign will continue till Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2. PM Modi has asked people to rededicate themselves to fulfilling Gandhi’s dream of a ‘Clean India’.
Municipal Committee officials and dozens of Safai Karamcharis participated in the drive and cleaned the lanes and drains of Khadi and Village office and tehsil premises.
