CRPF trooper injured in militant attack in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

Pulwama: A CRPF trooper on Tuesday was injured in a militant attack in Newa area of this south Kashmir district.

Around 12:45 am today, militants lobbed a grenade and opened a volley of fire towards the joint camp of special operations group (SOG) of police and CRPF in Newa here, official sources told Kashmir Reader today.

A CRPF trooper, the official sources said was wounded after being hit by a bullet. The injured trooper identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan was shifted to army’s Badamibagh cantonment hospital in the capital city of Srinagar for treatment.

Soon after the attack, government forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to nab the militants
