3 Panchayat houses set ablaze in south Kashmir’s Shopian, Pulwama

Srinagar: Unidentified persons on Monday night set on fire three Panchayat houses in twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian in south Kashmir.

Unknown men tried to torch a Panchayat Ghar in Nazneenpora village of Shopian district, a police spokesperson told Kashmir Reader. The building suffered minor damages in the fire.

The spokesman said that due to the quick action of cops and fire service department, the building was saved.

“Police have registered a case and started investigations in this regard,” the spokesperson added.

In the neighbouring Pulwama district, unidentified men tried to set afire under construction Panchayat Ghar in Nagbal village of Tral, official sources said.

An attempt to torch Panchayat house was also made in Drabgam area of the Pulwama district, official sources said. The building suffered minor damage.
