Funeral prayers in absentia held for slain militants, civilian on JRL call

Srinagar: The funeral prayers in absentia was held on Sunday here in Lal Chowk for five militants and a civilian killed in a gunfight and clashes in south Kashmir’s Qazigund and Kulgam.
According to a statement issued by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) which stated that on the call from Joint Resistance Leadership, the funeral prayers in absentia was held for the killings in south Kashmir on Saturday. “JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along with other resistance leaders participated in the prayers,” it said. “People in large numbers participated in the programme.”
Malik on the occasion, it reads, prayed for the heavenly abode of slain persons and expressed solidarity with their bereaved families’. He also condemned the forces’ action throughout the valley, it added.
