Alert sounded after Swift car stolen in Pampore town

PAMPORE: Police on Sunday sounded an alert after a Maruti Swift car was stolen from Pampore town in Pulwama district.
The white Maruti Swift, JK01AF-8411, belonging to Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie was stolen during the intervening night of September 15-16 from near the owner’s home at Astan Mohalla Namblabal, Pampore, SHO Pampore Nazir Ahmad told Kashmir Reader. Ganaie, who had parked his car along the roadside, was shocked to see his car missing on Sunday morning.
Ganie said he parked his car at 11.30pm and he found his car missing in the morning. He said he immediately informed the Pampore police.
“I believe that my car has been stolen during the night. I have lodged a complaint with police,” Ganaie told Kashmir Reader.
The SHO Pampore said that police have registered a case and started searches in several places to find the stolen vehicle.
Immediately after receiving complaint from the owner, police flashed a message to all police stations and other field officials, the SHO said. Government forces deployed on the national highway were also put on high alert after the car theft.
