Police sound alert after car stolen in south Kashmir’s Pampore

Pulwama: Police on Sunday sounded an alert after a car was stolen from Pampore town of this south Kashmir district.

The Maruti Swift JK01AF-8411 belonging to Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie was stolen last night near his home at Namblabal Pampore, officials told Kashmir Reader Sunday. Ganaie, who had parked his car along the roadside, was shocked to see his car missing this morning.

“I believe that my car has been stolen during the intervening night. I have lodged a complaint with police,” Ganaie told Kashmir Reader.

SHO Pampore, Nazir Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that police have registered a case and started searches to trace the stolen vehicle.

Immediately after receiving complaint from owner, police flashed a message to all police stations and other field officials. Forces deployed on the highway were in particular put on high alert after the car theft.
