SRINAGAR: The joint resistance leadership (JRL) has called for complete shutdown on Monday against turning the Valley especially south Kashmir into a “battlefield”. It also appealed people to offer funeral prayers in absentia on Sunday after Zuhar (noon) prayers for the slain militants.
In a statement, JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Muhammad Yasin Malik expressed dismay over New Delhi’s “stubbornness” and “military arrogance” which it termed as “the main stumbling block” in the way of peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.
“Much blood has flown in the rivers of Kashmir, it needs a human heart to end the bloodshed and allow the subjugated people of Kashmir to decide their own fate according to their free will,” the leadership said.
