SRINAGAR: The Vice Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir called on the Chancellor of the varsity Lt. General Syed Atta Hasnain, former Military Secretary, in New Delhi on Thursday.
During the meeting, according to a statement, various issues relating to academics, administration as well as the progress of the construction of permanent campus at Tulmulla, Ganderbal were discussed at length. The duo also discussed the shifting of the University Campus to the allotted site at Ganderbal. Vice Chancellor also apprised Chancellor about the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), which is conducted in collaboration with other member Central Universities all over India.
He also apprised the Chancellor about the maiden Convocation of the University, which was held recently. The academic collaborations of the University through the medium of signing of MOUs with other universities within and abroad also came under discussion.
“The Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Vice-Chancellor, the faculty and administrative staff for earning a name within a short span of time and casting its reflections on the academic panorama across the country despite many constraints. The Chancellor shall be holding a meeting with the functionaries of the University soon,” the statement said.
