Srinagar: The Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) chief, Rasheed, on Thursday termed Omar Abdullah’s statement that National Conference has not asked people to boycott upcoming local body election as “unfortunate and disgusting”.
“All those who participated in the all party meeting should clear their stand whether they subscribe to the views of Omar Abdullah or not,” Rasheed said in a statement.
“Omar’s statement is obvious that NC is misleading people, trying to keep New Delhi in good terms but at the same time befooling Kashmiris,” he said.
Rasheed said that by claiming to have boycotted elections, “but asking masses not to boycott it, is ridiculous.”
“He (Omar Abdullah) should show some respect towards the sentiments of Kashmiri people,” he said, and appealed other political parties, who participated in the all-party meet, to come clean over the issue.
