Srinagar: Muslim League said that its incarcerated chairman, Masarat Aalam Bhat was brought to Srinagar from Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu on Wednesday for a hearing.
In a statement, the League spokesperson Sajad Ayobi said Masarat was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate and after hearing the arguments, the judge fixed the next hearing on September 24.
“After hearing, Masarat was taken back to Kotbalwal Jail Jammu,” he said, and added: “Authorities are setting new policies and methods for his continued imprisonment under baseless cases, which is highly condemnable.”
He said that the government is deliberately doing it under a plan so that he is not released by the court. “The policy adopted by the government through which Masarat is being moved from one place to another cannot break his will and courage,” he added.
The spokesperson appealed to the human rights bodies to take note of “political revenge against Masarat” and asked them to play their role.
