JKWDC holds series of awareness camps in Shopian, Pulwama

SRINAGAR: J&K Women Development Corporation (JKWDC) has held a series of awareness camps at different places of Shopian and Pulwama districts.
The main objectives of these camps were to highlight Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GoI schemes being implemented in the state by the JKWDC, a handout read.
District Manager Shopian and Pulwama JKWDC, Tahir Parvez, highlighted the benefits of various schemes during the awareness camps.
The sessions focussed on the benefits of schemes like NMDFC, NBCFDC, NHFDC, educational loan scheme among others.
The awareness camps included sessions offering general awareness about health and hygiene, women empowerment, micro-financing, and role and formation of self-help groups, the handout further read.
The camps also included sessions by speakers from the Social Welfare Department, various NGOs and educational institutions.
Deserving women were also identified for coverage under different schemes during these camps, it added.
