PAMPORE: Police on Tuesday seized eight tipper vehicles involved in illegal loading of charcoal from a cement factory at Khrew, Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The drivers however fled from the spot.
Station House Officer Khrew Javed Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that after receiving a tip off, he led a team to nab the culprits.
“As soon as we reached the spot at JK Cements Ltd, the drivers had fled from the spot leaving the tippers there,” he said, adding that the absconding drivers would be soon taken to task.
He said that a case bearing FIR No 68/2018 under section 409, 120B has been lodged regarding the incident and further investigations have been started.
Meanwhile, sources told Kashmir Reader that some officials of JK Cements Limited are involved in illegal loading of charcoals through tippers to unknown locations.
“Police must nab not only the drivers but the officials too as without them; the illegal work by drivers was not possible,” they said.
