SRINAGAR: A two day seminar on “New Ideas and Technologies in Laboratory Medicine” is being held on Saturday and Sunday at Command Hospital, Northern Command.
According to a statement, a spokesperson of the army said that the objective of the seminar is to assess the advances made in laboratory medicine in terms of technologies and their effect on patient care.
“This seminar will guide the young generation of health care givers with updated knowledge in laboratory medicine. A variety of topics ranging from Histopathology, Hematology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Transfusion medicine are being covered including an entire session on blood transfusion services in combat, critical care and technology to detect agents of bioterrorism during the seminar,” the spokesperson said.
The event was inaugurated by Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command at Udhampur. The keynote address was delivered by Air Marshal Pawan Kapoor (Retd), an eminent hospital administrator. Over hundred delegates including participants from Air Force and Navy are attending the seminar, he added.
