Baramulla: Police on Sunday arrested two people for killing a youth, whose body was found two weeks after he went missing from Tangmarg area of this north Kashmir district.
Body of Mehraj-ud-din Teeli, 25, was recovered by police from Budnar Nalla this morning on the basis of disclosure of two suspects, who were picked up after the youth went missing on August 26, last month, a police spokesman told Kashmir Reader.
FSL teams and a magistrate were on the spot when the body was dug out this morning, the spokesperson added.
Police identified the accused as Irshad Ahmed Wani and his cousin Imtiyaz Ahmed Wani of Rishipora village.
Disclosing the motive behind the murder, the spokesperson said that Teeli had an affair with the sister of one of the accused due to which the duo abducted and murdered him in the forest.
“His body was later buried in the Budnar Nalla around a kilometre and half from the village,” the spokesman said.
“Both of them confessed after sustained questioning that they murdered Teli on the same day he went missing. A case FIR No. 75/2018 U/S 302 RPC was registered in Police Station Tangmarg,” the spokesperson added.
