Srinagar: All Jammu and Kashmir land Donors, PHE ITI Plumbers, Casual labours and need bases workers Association on Friday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding release of their long pending wages.
Scores of protests assembled here in Press enclave and shouted slogans against the government for not release their pending wages.
The Protesters demanded immediate release of pending wages and implementation of SRO-520 promised by the government for their regularisation.
Irfan Ahmad Chek, Kashmir province President of All Jammu and Kashmir Land Donors, PHE ITI plumbers, Casual labours and Need base workers Association said that “the wages of need base and Land Donors of PHE is pending from last 22 months and wages of ITI plumbers from Uri Division is pending from last 48 months.”
“We want release of our long pending wages. We are facing financial problems due to which our children have stopped are going to school,” said Chek.
He also said that the files of Casual labours from Shopian and Pulwama division is pending in chief engineer’s office and demanded they should be forwarded to the concerned department in the Secretariat
The protesters have threatened to close the water supply in their respective areas if government fails to release their pending wages.
