KVK G’bal organises exposure visit for farmers

GANDERBAL: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ganderbal in collaboration with NABARD on Thursday organised an exposure visit-cum-training programme for farmers under Capacity Building for Adoption of Technology (CBAT). The participants were exposed to various technologies at Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH) and KVK-Ganderbal, SKUAST-K.
According to an official handout, topics covered under the programme included: growing of fruit crops on scientific lines, high density plantation in fruit crops, moisture conservation using technologies developed by the institute, protected vegetable cultivation, exposure to integrated farming system (IFS) model, exposure and adoption of Horti-Poultry Model developed by KVK, demonstration of mushroom cultivation and vermi-composting as an enterprise, SRI technology of paddy cultivation and conservation of natural resources.
Scientists of KVK-Ganderbal and CITH interacted with the farmers during the programme. The participants hailed the joint well-coordinated programme of KVK and NABARD.
