Flood 2014; KEA observes ‘black day’ in solidarity with victims

Srinagar: Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), an amalgam of different trade bodies of Kashmir valley, Friday observed ‘black day’ in solidarity with the flood victims of Sep 7, 2014.

The members of KEA led by its president Farooq Ahmad Dar held a protest demonstration here in summer capital against the state and Central governments for deprivation of flood victims and not rehabilitating them since 2014.

The protesting members assembled here in press enclave while chanting ant-government slogans and holding black banners.

Witnesses said that later police came and detained Farooq to foil the protest.

A devastating flood hit Kashmir valley on this day in 2014 damaging properties worth crores.
