Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Thursday strongly condemned the denial of medical aid to the party chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, in Tihar jail.
In a statement, DeM spokesperson, Rifat Fatima, said that the family members, after meeting Andrabi inside the jail, said that she is being denied basic medical facility due to which her health has deteriorated to a critical level.
Fatima said Aasiyeh is suffering from Cervical Spondylosis – a condition that affects the joints and discs in cervical spine
“The unhygienic food provided to the party chairperson has further deteriorated her health,” she said. “We condemn these oppressive tactics of the authorities and also appeal to the Red Cross to take a serious cognizance of this ill treatment meted-out to political prisoners.”
“Aasiyeh is a political prisoner and leader of masses and such a treatment being meted out to her is highly condemnable and cannot be tolerated,” she added.
