Bhadarwah: Awami Ittehad Party (AAP) president Er. Rasheed on Wednesday appealed people of Jammu to defend Article 35-A on all platforms and said the special status that our state is enjoying is not benefiting a particular community or a region, but the entire Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, a spokesperson said Rashid made these comments while interacting with the people at Bhaderwah on Wednesday.
“Kashmiris are not the enemies of Jammu people and strongly believe in unity and integrity of the state,” Rashid said, and added: “It would be beneficial for BJP’s own politics not to find communal angle in every issue.”
Reacting on NC’s decision to boycott the upcoming Municipal and Panchayat polls, Rasheed said, “AIP has been appealing major political parties from day one not to participate in Municipal and Panchayat elections as the atmosphere is not conducive. NC needs to show consistency over its decision, and main stream political parties must develop a consensus over Article 35-A and other related issues.”
However, Rasheed reiterated his demand that Advocate Talib be released without further humiliation and appealed to people of all communities to raise their voice in his favour.
