Srinagar: Senior PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat on Wednesday urged all the regional parties of state to frame a uniform response on issues of common concern, and said people dislike one-upmanship approach as this has always served the interests of hostile and divisive forces.
Bhat in a statement said, “Working at cross purpose does no good to suffering of masses and will undermine the political parties too.”
“Political parties and social groups are day in and day out swearing for unanimity, yet indulge in divisive public debate,” he said.
Bhat said the issue of defending Article 35-A has generated a lot of debate and political parties of all hues rose to a race in legal battle. “But different groups could not organise a joint rally to show unity,” he said and added: Till the parties and groups continue to score points, it will carry no conviction and will cause further weaken the social fabric and political institution of state.
He said that Kashmir craves for a unifying force to wriggle out their miseries and losses of fragmentation. “Sooner this is realised the better it will be for the political parties,” Bhat added.
