SRINAGAR: An induction cum orientation programme of the newly inducted students of the department of Tourism Studies held at Central University of Kashmir (CUK) on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued here, CUK Vice Chancellor Prof Mehraj ud Din lauded the efforts of the department of Tourism Studies of the Varsity. “The department is one of the flagship departments of the university and students of the department have proven their mettle in the field,” he said.
Prof Mir said the students of tourism must be at the forefront of hospitality and other related activities of the varsity.
Head, department of Tourism Studies, Prof Syed Fayyaz said the university must recognise the achievement of students and alumni and acknowledge their efforts.
Vice Chancellor also distributed awards of distinction among the students and alumni who have achieved success in the various seminars and festivals conducted across the country.
Meanwhile, after assuming the office Incharge Registrar of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Prof Fayaz A Nikka took stock of the things at Nuner, Ganderbal Campus of the University on Wednesday. He interacted with the controlling officers and administrative staff of the varsity. Prof Nikka advised the staff to be more compassionate towards the stakeholders because of being public servants.
He further asserted to uphold the rule of law in the system and understand their individual roles in the right perspective. He said, “The staff should adopt a positive approach while dealing in different capacities in the University in order to streamline the functioning of the system.”
Prof Nikka assured the staff every possible support from the administration and stressed upon building harmonious relations within the institution.
The controller of Examinations Prof Parveen Pandit also held interaction with the staff of Examination section. She lauded the efforts of the section for smooth and timely conduct of the examinations and declaration of results.
