Srinagar: Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers on Wednesday observed teachers day as black day while reiterating their demand of implementation of seventh pay commission and delinking of salaries from centre sector to the state sector.
Scores of ReT teacher under the banner of Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC), led by TJAC president Abdul Qayoom Wani and all district presidents assembled here in Pratap Park and staged a demonstration, witnesses told Kashmir reader. The protesters were holding banners and placards that read, “Implement 7th pay Commission”, and “We want justice”.
The protesting teachers said that it is an irony how national builders are being treated in the state.
One of the protesters while addressing a large gathering said, “Government should put an end to the double standards by implementing 7th pay commission.”
