Northern Command for promotion of ‘Make in India’ initiative

SRINAGAR: To develop custom-made solutions and equipment towards capability development and supporting army personnel, Indian army’s Northern Command on Tuesday organised 13th edition of Annual North Tech Symposium at its Udhampur headquarters. GOC-in-C, Northern Command, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh inaugurated the event.
The event aims at showcasing technologies, latest products and equipment to mitigate challenges faced by northern army during operations and responsibilities in the fields of situational awareness, protection, communication, fire power, bullet proofing, tactical mobility, clean energy, medical and operational logistic solutions, an official handout read.
The event witnessed more than 90 participants, including defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs), private sector vendors/sub-vendors and system integrators.
This interactive platform for knowledge diffusion through joint army-industry participation was also aimed at propelling the GoI’s ‘Make in Indi’ initiative, the handout added.
