Srinagar: Government forces on Wednesday launched a search operation in the forest areas of north Kashmir’s Baramullah district, sources said.
The operation has been launched in Sheeri forests of the district after some suspicious movement there, official sources said.
A senior police officer confirmed the launching of operation to Kashmir Reader and said that following some input about the presence of militants, a search operation has been launched but no contact has so far been established with the hiding militants.
Government forces including army’s 52RR, 46RR, SOG of police and CRPF also launched a same kind of operation in the Narvaw forest ranges of Baramulla.
Sources said that forces after information about the presence of a group of militants launched the operation. They said that forces also fire some warning shots towards a suspected spot however there was no respond.
A senior police officer told Kashmir Reader that the operation was launched after input about the presence of militants.
