SRINAGAR: Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Dr G N Itoo has said that honest and dedicated employees should be given more respect after superannuation in their concerned offices because they act as role models for their successors and sub-ordinates.
DSEK expressed these views on the farewell function organized in honour of OSD IMW DSEK Zahoor Ahmad Banday here on Tuesday.
DSEK said that a retiring employee is remembered by his hard work and the attitude towards his fellow and sub-ordinate colleagues. “Zahoor Ahmad Banday is a very humble and friendly person. Despite being elder in age than me, he never showed a grin on his face whenever I called him for any assignment. He was always very prompt in performing his duties,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, ex-OSD of IMW of Directorate, Muhammad Maqbool appreciated the services of Zahoor Ahmad Banday towards the department and shared his experiences with the audience.
Joint Directors Abid Hussain, Hemraj Pakhru and Mehboob Hussain termed Zahoor Ahmad as a role model for other employees. They said that the 40 years of long service of Banday towards the department shall always be remembered.
While expressing his views on the occasion, Zahoor Ahmad Banday presented a short sketch of his 40 years service career. He said that he has adopted the profession of teaching by choice and told that teaching has been our family profession since 2 centuries. He said that his great grandfather in 1812 A.D. was also a teacher and this profession was adopted since then in his family.
Banday was honoured by DSEK in presence of all officers, officials of DSEK, his brother and sons by presenting him a traditional Kashmiri shawl and other gifts.
