Violent protests erupt in Pulwama after youth’s killing

Srinagar: Clashes between protesters and government forces started in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town after a youth was killed in forces firing at Gusoo village of Pulwama district, sources said.

Fayaz Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Ahsan Wani, resident of Chewa-Kalan Pulwama received bullet in head during clashes at Gusoo Pulwama.

Fayaz was shifted to SMHS, Hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed to injuries.

Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that as soon as the news about the killing of Fayaz reached Pulwama, groups of youth took to the streets and started pelting stones on forces near police station.

Forces retaliated with tear smoke shelling, they said.

Meanwhile, official sources said that Train service in south Kashmir has been suspended soon after the succumbing of Pulwama youth.
