Srinagar: Thousands of people belonging to different Pulwama areas Monday attended the funeral prayers of the youth who was killed in government forces firing in south Kashmir village, witnesses said.
Fayaz Ahmad Wani (29) son of Mohammad Ahsan Wani a resident of Chewa Kalan, village of Pulwama was killed after government forces fired on protesters during clashes which erupted amid a massive crackdown on more than twelve villages in the district.
Fayaz Ahmad was critically wounded in forces fire and was shifted to SMHS, Srinagar, where he succumbed.
Officials as SMHS hospital confirmed the succumbing of Fayaz.
Witnesses said that thousands of people gathered at Chewa Kalan village to attend the funeral prayers of young Fayaz.
They raised high pitched anti-India slogans after attending his Nimaz-e-Jinaza during which people were seen crying, witnesses said.
Fayaz was later laid to rest amid sobs and emotional scenes.
