Shutdown in Boniyar against minor’s alleged murder

Baramulla: A complete shutdown is being observed today in Boniyar area of this border town Uri against the alleged murder of a minor girl.

All shops and business establishments remained closed in Boniyar today against the alleged murder of 9-year-old Muskan Jan, whose body was found in Trikanjan forest on Sunday, ten days after she went missing, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

While police maintain the girl was apparently killed by a wild animal, the locals allege that the minor was murdered.

Angry protesters blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway demanding arrest of minor’s murderer, witnesses said.

Later, police team visited the spot and assured locals of a transparent investigation. Following assurances of probe, the protesters lifted the blockade of highway.
