BARAMULLA: Residents of Budden area in Rafiabad in Baramulla district are up in arms against the roads and Buildings (R&B) department for failing to macadamize the Budden-Laser road.
According to the residents, the road stretch from Budden village to Laser village is in complete shambles and the authorities have turned a blind eye to the problem.
Shafiq Ahmad, a local, said that the condition of road was pathetic and the people were bearing the brunt of it.
“The road connects Budden village with Dangiwacaha tehsil and Hadipora-Baramulla Highway at Laser. But, due to the potholes on the road, the public transport is not running on the road, leaving the residents compelled to walk by foot even during medical emergencies,” he said.
Local residents have sought attention of the R&B department and demanded immediate macadamization of the road.
They said that from the past 10 years the road has not been repaired or macadamized by the authorities, puncturing the tall claims of development.
